There are some groups and individuals that have gone so far off the rails (if they were ever on them in the first place, which is a question in itself) that they can't even be regarded as part of the Body of Christ -period. They are so deep into the occult and New Age that they can not be regarded as remotely Christian in any shape or form. Israel has many groups like this in the NAR lunatic fringe. As time goes by and they become ever more removed from Scripture their behaviour follows suit. Someone posted me a prime example of this today.

In June 2019 Michael Nissim, the leader of a messianic congregation in northern Israel, put out a video documenting some of the disturbing connections between the Tikkun/Revive Israel NARpostlolic networks and some very, very dodgy ministries. He was attacked on line by a woman called Donna Diorio who publishes a prayer bulletin called "Arrows from Zion". Diorio claimed that Michael is a slanderer, and that there is actually no connection at all between Tikkun and those whom she called the "flakiest of the flakes". This series examines the truth of her claims by exposing even further Tikkun's connections to the NAR and hypercharismania. Have you ever heard a spiritual leader say something like this:
"Stop rocking the boat! Look, we know Brother X or Y is into some wacky stuff -sure, he's "off the wall" and his church is as flakey as they come! On the quiet, we would never recommend that anyone go there, but he's a nice guy and we have a good working relationship with him, we even meet for coffee and hummus and have joint prayer meetings once a month. We don't like all this controversy over false doctrine, it's ruining our relationship with him, let's just preach the truth and sound doctrine that's enough!" We have, quite a few times now in fact, heard stuff like this; but is this kind of approach biblical? |
