In regard to the now, open for all to see, Tikkun cooperation with the blasphemous Bethel Redding cult and its openly heretical leader Bill Johnson, a number of people mentioned to me that I had forgotten to include the so-called 'Passover "Holy" Alignment'; in which local Israeli NAR leaders met online with fellow false teachers from around the world.
We knew it was coming; the way things were heading it was inevitable that the false apostles of Tikkun/Revive Israel would begin to openly ally themselves with the Bethel Redding cult of Bill Johnson.
This article was prepared from material written by someone who was formerly in the NAR for many years.
Bethel Church in Redding California is a major hub of the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation), and its pastor, Bill Johnson, one of the most influential people in the movement. Bethel is also a major influence on the worldwide Charismatic movement through books, youth ministries such as ‘Jesus Culture’, Bethel Music and the BSSM — Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, Bethel Church has successfully fulfilled the objective of exporting its ideas and creating a reproduceable model for other churches to copy.
It has however essentially departed from any form of biblical faith; and if it ever even was Christian in the first place, it is no longer anything but a hub of New Age and occult teachings and activities. The religion that Bethel embodies is Christian in name only, and would be better described as shamanic mysticism or a form of Gnosticism. It is definitely not in any shape or form orthodox biblical Christianity; and this can be readily deduced from just the following (partial) list of doctrines and practices that Bethel is promoting.
As we have mentioned before, guilt by approving association, co-operation, endorsement and staying silent in the face of evil is a scriptural concept. The Scriptures teach us that welcoming, abetting and offering those who teach false doctrines the hand of Christian fellowship makes us partakers in their evil deeds and as guilty as they are (see 2Jn. 7-11). So to whom a congregation, ministry or individual is prepared to offer their endorsement, co-operation or approval to tells us a lot about where they really stand and what they really believe, as opposed to a statement of faith, or bleatings of orthodoxy which are all too often a fig-leaf.
This apparently is the criminal mug-shot of Word of Faith, money-preacher and false prophet Rodney Howard Browne, the so-called "Holy Ghost Bartender" who dispensed spiritual drunkenness at "Joel's Place" and set a new standard for blasphemous shenanigans back in the 90's. Browne has been arrested for unlawful assembly and defying emergency public health restrictions.
For years the NAR in Israel had been unchallenged and quietly sapping away at the very foundations of the faith, but in recent years, as their burrowing and undermining has become increasingly exposed, the level of national concern and controversy has been growing. The crisis engendered by their teachings in the Body here, has become internationally recognised and is making it into discernment blogs across the globe. It has now come to the attention of well-known NAR researcher Holly Pivec. author of two excellent books on the NAR cult. Holly has not written about the Israeli NAR before, so this is a significant uptick in reportage on the NAR here. We hope that this will mark the beginning of an international discernment focus on the NAR situation here, because what happens in Israel has deep significance for the rest of the Body worldwide. Interview With Doug Givett, Co-Author Of "A New Apostolic Reformation?" And "Encountering God's Super Apostles"
Doug Givett is co-author with Holly Pivec of two excellent and informative books on the NAR, both of which we would highly recommend. If you are unfamiliar with NAR teachings and senior figures in the larger NARiverse, their books are an excellent primer.
Great shame that they are not available in Hebrew!
By Esther Schreiber, a former member of the NAR and a guest contributor.
The majority of believers within the body of Christ have one thing in common: they have never heard of the NAR! Considering that one of its most senior leaders (Peter Wagner) claimed it was the fastest growing sector within Christendom, this is indeed strange. However, in an age where human knowledge is growing exponentially and new things are being discovered every day, our ignorance or lack of awareness of something one day, is no proof of its non-existence; only that we have not yet discovered it, perceived what is under our very noses, or recognised something for what it is.
